Vrindavan, situated on the banks of river Yamuna the city where Lord Krishna grew up.
The word Vrindavan has been derived from “vrinda” which means basil and van meaning grove i.e the Nidhivan(place where the divine couple rested)and Seva Kunj(place where Krishna performed Raaslila with the Gopis).
Religious Attractions:
- Bankey Bihari temple, the krishanji’s idol here is kept hidden from view and the God is offered Bhog behind a curtain that is opened and closed every few minutes.
- Jaigurudeo Temple doesn’t accept donations from non-vegetarians.
- ISCKON temple is beautifully constructed and offers food to all its devotees.
- It is a sacred place and a large number of people come here to renounce worldly life permanently.
